DESCRIPTION

The 8301 IP paging adapter from Algo is a PoE-powered IP paging adapter and bell scheduler for traditional analog PA systems. It provides a line-level page output to a legacy amplifier, so you can connect a VoIP phone system to existing speakers without replacing your whole PA infrastructure. As a result, you get modern IP features like SIP, multicast and scheduling while keeping your current amplifiers and wiring.

Bridge VoIP to legacy amplifiers

The 8301 IP paging adapter offers an isolated, balanced line output to a traditional analog amplifier. This design helps remove hum and noise and keeps audio clear. The line output supports amplifier inputs between 600 Ohm and 10 kOhm, so it works with most commercial PA amplifiers. You can feed the amplifier from the 8301 line out and still use the amplifier’s existing speaker wiring and zones.

Because the adapter emulates a page port like the one on a legacy PBX, it appears to the VoIP system as a SIP extension. You can dial that extension from any phone to make live announcements through your analog speakers. In addition, the 8301 can send and receive multicast audio. One adapter can therefore fan out pages to many Algo IP speakers, strobes and other paging adapters across your building or campus.

Built-in scheduler for automated bells, tones and messages

A key feature of the 8301 is its integrated scheduler. The adapter can play stored WAV file tones, chimes, bells or announcements at specific times during the day. It uses an NTP time server to stay synchronized, and it can align with IP clocks such as the Algo 8190S IP Speaker – Clock.

This makes the 8301 well suited for school bells, class change tones, recess and anthem playback. It also handles retail closing messages, hospital visiting hours, shift change tones and other routine announcements. Audio can play over the 8301 line output to the amplifier, as multicast to Algo IP speakers, or both at the same time. In addition, a relay input and contact closure can trigger emergency tones or pre-recorded announcements from an external button or switch.

Scheduling and audio events are configured through an easy web interface, so you do not need extra software or a dedicated PC to manage the bell schedule. The 8301 runs as a standalone network appliance.

SIP, multicast and integrations

The 8301 IP paging adapter is a fully compliant third-party SIP endpoint. It works with most hosted, cloud and on-premise VoIP or UC platforms. You can also use the InformaCast-enabled 8301-IC model when you need tight integration with Singlewire InformaCast for emergency notification.

For security, the device supports secure SIP using TLS and SRTP. It also supports wideband G.722 audio, which improves clarity for live pages and pre-recorded messages. Configuration is done via a browser-based web GUI or an auto-provisioning server, which simplifies deployments with many endpoints.

Algo IP paging adapters integrate with popular platforms such as Microsoft Teams, Zoom, RingCentral and Cisco via SIP. That means you can use your existing VoIP phones, softphones or UC clients to trigger pages and scheduled events over both analog and IP speakers.

Ideal for schools, retail, healthcare and industry

The 8301 is ideal anywhere you want to automate bells and announcements while re-using an existing PA system. Typical sites include schools and universities, where the scheduler automates class change, recess and daily anthem playback. It also fits retail stores, logistics centers and warehouses that need opening and closing announcements, break tones and shift change signals.

Healthcare facilities can use the adapter for visiting-hours announcements, safety messages and emergency alerts through existing speakers. Manufacturing plants, transport terminals and corporate campuses can combine the 8301 with Algo IP speakers and visual alerters to create a mixed IP and analog paging system that covers any size building.
